Two college buddies, four years of playing pong, and a love for competition. That’s how NJ Beer Pong was born in 2008.

Beer pong to us was just another drinking game at a high school or frat party. It was a game we loved but never knew its true potential or fan base. That was until Towson University and the MD Beer Pong/MD Pro Pong league brought us into the Beer Pong Community.

Spending Wednesday nights practicing and prepping for pong league was our specialty.

I don’t know why semester after semester we kept scheduling class on Wednesday nights or Thursday mornings, but that never stopped our commitment to playing pong and having a great time doing so.

Beer pong turned into a daily activity. Just like our buddies, we had a table set up in our apartment 24/7. That’s where NJ Beer Pong came alive; it started over a game of one on one, Stephen vs. Paul, which the winner of the game will remain nameless. We both talked about the idea, checked the web to see if someone had already started a NJ Beer Pong, and to our surprise we found nothing of the sort.

We knew we would be heading back home to NJ in a month and we would be going through beer pong withdrawal pretty quickly. Something had to be done about it. After all of our table discussions with our fellow pongers we had it all worked out.

Once we got back home and settled down from all the graduation hype we got to work, found a bar, bought a few tables, and started our first league in the summer of 2008 with 30 teams.

Since that summer NJ Beer Pong has held a couple of successful leagues as well as multiple smooth and competitive tournaments at various venues. The intensity level is always high due to some of the most talented teams in the country competing.

We believe in having our fellow committed as well as casual pongers come out to play in our professionally run tournaments, playing for great prizes and still having a great time!
